Dear Friends,

Greetings again from Cambodia!  All of us at New Life Fellowship want to express how grateful we are to you. You are all truly a vital part of what God is doing in this wonderful country.  By viewing our website www.cambodiaoutreach.org you can read about the Christian School, testimonies from missionaries, Cambodian staff and church members, and many more of the wonderful things the Lord has been doing because of your prayers and support.  We have been experiencing seasons of growth and going from "glory to glory." During the past several months we had several teams and ministries that have been a blessing to us, including:

  • Brooklyn Tabernacle Medical Team
  • City Life Hobsons Bay Medical Team
  • Ken and Rayma Tracy from SOW International
  • Tom Cole from International House of Prayer Kansas City and Dan Hitz from Reconciliation Ministries
  • New Life Community Church, Singapore ministry team
  • Duane and Lee Anne Rawlins from New Life Ministries
  • Grace Assembly of God, Singapore Family Ministry Team
  • Church of Glad Tidings Tearing Down Strongholds Team
  • City Life, Melbourne, Australia Youth Team
  • Robert Hartzell and Bob Parr from Shiloh Place Ministries

I hope I haven't forgotten anyone! As our ministry has grown over the years, we've been so blessed to be able to partner with so many great men and women of God!  Your partnership in prayer, finances, skills and ministry giftings have played a tremendous role in the multitudes of changed lives and communities we've seen here in Cambodia.

In September this year, Soar and I made a quick trip to the United States to attend the annual Minister's Fellowship International Conference in Portland, Oregon.  While in Oregon we were also able to spend some time with my parents, my brother, Matt, who is studying at Portland Bible College and many pastors and friends in California, Oregon and Washington.  We want to thank everyone there who w
as so warm and welcoming to us during our time there. This has been a fantastic year and everything we've been putting our hands to has been prospering.  We are planting more churches and training more Cambodian leaders.  We are doing more relief and development work through our primary healthcare ministry, Children-at-Risk, Street Children's Ministry, micro-enterprise and well digging program.  Our Christian School has 103 students this year!

Many people have contacted me
asking what they can do for the people here in Cambodia.  I've included four projects through which you can change someone's life and destiny.  You've heard the saying, "Don't just give someone a fish, but teach them how to fish" All these projects have been proven to "teach someone how to fish” and each and every one is a project that Soar and I have been giving into personally over the years.

  • Sponsor a Child at Risk for US$30 per month or US$360 per year.  This is not rescuing kids out of human trafficking, but getting to at-risk kids before the human traffickers get to them.
  • Sponsor an orphan or poor child at New Life Fellowship's International Christian School for US$35 per month or US$420 per year.  Our Christian school is a beam of hope in Cambodia's education system and will give these kids a solid education in preparation for a bright future.
  • Sponsor a High School student for US$30 per month or US$360 per year.  Your sponsorship enables a 12th grade student to get additional education at private classes and helps him/her get prepared for the grueling 12th grade exams.
  • Sponsor a University Student for $600 per academic year.  You can help prepare a Cambodian for a great future and job by helping them get into university which they normally would be unable to afford.

You can give to any of these projects by going to our website www.cambodiaoutreach.org or by sending a check.  Also I've attached a document that gives much more detail about these four projects (if you can't open it, you can download Adobe Acrobat for free on the internet).  Please pass the word around...we don't want to see kids for sale in Cambodia, but kids that are brought into a true hope and future - just like so many of us from developed countries have experienced.  The only difference between a kid who lives in a shack and begs and one who finds the cure for cancer is the opportunities they are given.

We've been blessed this
year to partner with you and are looking forward to a continued partnership with you.

Dear Friends,

Following is a Thank You Letter we recently sent to two of our partners about our marriage ministry.  The family is in great need in Cambodia and we are so happy to have Pastor Somnang and his wife, Samdy heading up this ministry.  Read below the good report of what God has done to establish strong families in Cambodia through the ministry of New Life Fellowship Cambodia.

---------------------

Dear. Ps. Phillip and Stefanie Mainey

Greeting from Cambodia! I trust you’re going to have a fantastic Christmas. Here is Samnag and Samdy Sim from New Life Fellowship Cambodia send you warm greeting from the warm country of Cambodia. We believe and pray that as you prepare to enter into the upcoming yeare you will be abundantly blessed in every way. God will supply all your need!

2007 has been a good year for us in Cambodia. There is still a lot of work ahead for the body of Christ, but we are excited as the Kingdom of God moves forward, lives, families and communities are transformed and hopeless people come into a living hope.

Your and our prayer are being answered. I want to let you know that your partnership with us here is changing lives, and your seed planted, whether they are prayers, finances, gifts, time or efforts, are bearing much fruit here, especially the marriage ministry that we are ministering. This year we have seen hundreds couple and young people changed. The exciting thing is that, this year my wife have decided to quite her job coming into the ministry full time with me. We have been traveling to the differences province to preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and conducted the marriage seminar and teaching the young people how to live in the holy life and to have good relationship with one another.

This year we have conducted marriage seminar with 8 churches in 4 provinces ( Kandal, Takao, Kom Pong Thom and Kom Pong Spue province) with 200 couples and 400 youths. We also have 2 Bible study groups with 6 couples in Phnom Penh. In this group, we study what the bible say about the family and marriage. We are committed to one another, to care for one another and to help one another, And each of them are trained to start another group and help caring for the church family to have a happiness family and to be a disciple of Jesus. Below is just one of the numerous testimonies of what God has done this year through this bible study group. This is from a young couple named Sopheak and Kimhoung, (Sopheak is one of church planters of New Life Fellowship).

“My name is Sopheak, I am a church planter of New Life Fellowship and my wife is Kimhoung, working as a nurse in the Hope Center of Sihanuk Hospital. We have been married for two years, my wife is seven months pregnant.

Before I married, I think that marriage life is very wonderful, in fact it’s true. Marriage life is very wonderful. but in my two – year -  marriage I have been through a lot of difficulties. Both of us are Christians, we love God, we are faithful to attend the church every Sunday. But we still have a lot of problem in our marriage sometimes we almost divorce. Then I recognized that, just attend the church is not enough. Praise God we are invited to join the marriage group with brother Samnang and sister Samdy. Through this group we are really blessed, we can know others families and all of us have very good relationship as brothers and sisters. We can share our problem and difficulties to one another freely, so that we can pray for one another and helping each other as well. Now I know that this is the true family in the Lord Jesus Christ, my family is changed, both of us can receive the true love from each other, we can be patience with each other, and I can experience the true love from God and from all these family as well. I thank God very much for brother Samnang and his wife that leading , guiding us to follow God’s way and know the priority in this life ( God – family – the ministry). When we face the problem, we have brothers and sisters in our group to help us, especially brother Samnang and his wife, they are our parents of faith and brother and sister as well. Through our group we want to see others family come to the Lord and become to the disciple of Jesus. I commit myself and my family to God and I will try on best to serve Him and helping in take care of God’s people. God bless you”.

I want to thank you again for your love and commitment for this nation. I also want to assure you that every seed planted into this nation is not wasted, but diligently sown into the fertile soil of the wonderful Cambodian people’s lives. Below I’ve listed some opportunities to sow your prayers, lives and finances into what God is doing here in Cambodia. We love all of you and are excited to know you and be able to partner with you!

Please Pray:

-          That there will be a powerful anointing on our ministry and our Christmas outreaches this month that will be reach up to more people with the Gospel.

-          Pray for the blessing of wisdom health financial upon our family.

-          Pray for our marriage group that all of them will be blessing so that they can bless others and multiply the group.

-          Pray for our next year plan to be double what we have done this year.

Dear Friends,

I just wanted to write you a short note and update you on recent happenings with Soar and I as well as the ministry in Cambodia.  Soar and I have been on a whirlwind trip to the States visiting friends and ministries in Washington, Oregon and California.  It's been a great time of fellowship as well as a time for us to step away from the hands on ministry in Cambodia for a couple weeks and look at things from a distance.  In my experience, each time we do this, we come back to Cambodia with fresh vision and direction from the Lord.  Soar and I will be flying back to Cambodia tomorrow evening and will arrive in Phnom Penh on Friday morning.  Friday evening we will hold an Encounter Retreat where over fifty Cambodians and expat members of New Life Fellowship will set themselves aside for three days to meet with God.  We're expecting it to be a powerful time.

I'd like to ask for your prayers as Soar and I fly back, for the Encounter Retreat and for me as I'll be quite busy the first several weeks upon returning.

My team in Cambodia has been doing a great job while we've been here.  The Church has been moving forward and multiplying.  We have 63 villages we are working in and almost 30 full fledged Churches as well as many house Churches that are growing.  Many of these Churches are Church Plants of Church Plants of Church Plants of Church Plants...4th and 5th generation Churches.  That's exciting!  These are all community impacting Churches that being fruitful and multiplying!

This morning I had the privilege to be a guest on the International Christian Network with my dear friend RJ.  The interview will be rebroadcast on October 17th at 10am Pacific time on at www.theicn.com.  If you have a chance, log on and listen.

Thank you so much for all your love, prayers and support.  Every aspect of your partnership with us truly makes a difference!

Abundant blessings,

Dear Friends,

Greetings from the wonderful country of Cambodia!  I, Soar and Jessica want to send our warm greetings and love to all of you who have so faithfully been behind the work of God here in Cambodia.  We thank all of you for your prayers, support, visits, and especially for your friendship with us and the wonderful people of Cambodia.

These last few months have been some of the busiest months that we’ve experienced during our time in ministry here—nevertheless they’ve also been extremely fruitful!  The last several months our Church has been very involved in a number of
outreaches called Hope Cambodia.  It was a great time of blessing to the Body of Christ in Cambodia with everything from evangelistic outreaches to leadership training events to medical outreaches to children’s events and children’s workers training.  Click on or copy the following website into your web browser www.joycemeyer.org/Cambodia/Hope/Update.htm and you’ll be able to see many of the various things we’ve been involved in for the last couple months.  Our Church has been involved in practically every area of this event and we’ve been able to see much fruit in our own lives, in the Church and in the entire Body of Christ.

There has also been some recent persecution of the Church in Cambodia and while I don’t expect it to have any major effects on the work here, I’d still like to ask you to increase your prayer support for the Church.  Last Sunday, Dr. Michael Shepard from St. Louis, Missouri, USA, gave a tremendous prophecy about the growth and increase that we will be experiencing at New Life Fellowship in this next season.  His prophetic word confirms what I’ve been feeling the Lord speak to me and also confirms the prophetic word given to my parents that they received in the early 90s before they even came to Cambodia.  The harvest is truly ripe in Cambodia!

Soar and I are doing great and Jessica is really growing up and will turn two on September 29th.  Soar will be stepping down from the job she’s had since 2003 with CBN’s music video program  www.1cubed.com.  She wants to be able to focus more on discipling the young women at the Church and also help me out in various areas of ministry.  Soar and I are getting ready for a trip to the States where we will attend the Minister’s Fellowship International Annual Conference www.mfi-online.org as well as visit many friends and family on the West Coast.  It will also be great to visit my parents and my siblings who are all doing very well there in the States. I’ve attached a recent report of our growing children’s ministry.  Please check it! Some of you may even want to  consider how you can help minister to this magnificent harvest field of children.  Also please check out our website www.cambodiaoutreach.org which we’ve recently updated.  Although there are several areas that still need to be updated, I promise that I’ll be updating it regularly so please check back regularly.  One final thing—please add my email address, jesse@cambodiaoutreach.org to your safe senders list in your email program as I’ve have several recent incidents of people not receiving my emails.  This is possibly because of anti-spam software on your computer that could be putting emails from me into your junk mail box.  Also if you write me and don’t hear from me in a week or two, please try to resend your email as we’ve also been having some trouble with people’s letters either being filtered out or getting lost.

Soar and I truly appreciate all of you and want to thank you all for your wonderful partnership.  The revival in Cambodia is fueled by your prayers and support!

Abundant Blessings,

Hi Folks,

We arrived back from Australia on May 18th.  We had a great time in Australia visiting with friends and various ministries.  We're so glad to be back home with all of our friends here now.  We've been two Sundays now and the services have been great.  There have been about 60 people respond to altar calls for salvation in the last 2 weeks!  The presence of God has been awesome and we're believing for things to only keep on increasing.

I want to thank Pisit, Mara, Samdy, Bora, Johnny and all the NLF staff and leaders for doing such a great job of running things while Soar and I were in Australia for a month.  We came back to a Church that was more excited about God and more passionate about seeing His will be done.

We're quite busy with all the things the Lord is doing right now.  Darrell and Darlene Watson from Goldendale Washington are staying with us right now.  They are regional directors for the Healing Rooms based out of Spokane, Washington.  They've also travelled with Randy Clark and other ministries in worldwide outreaches.

We also have Tom Bachtle from Hillsong with us right now.  Tom is a great friend of ours who is partnering with us in our Church planting.  He's based in Australia but is American and travels to the States often.  If anyone would be interested in having him visit your Church, let me know and I can put him in touch with you.  He's been a huge blessing to us in every way and has a ton of great stuff on leadership that he's imparted to New Life Fellowship.

Soar is filming OneCubed today and Jessica's at home with a babysitter.  I've got quite a busy day too, so I better get to work.  Love all you guys!

Abundant Blessings,

Jesse

Please read this blog by our worship pastor's wife and take a look at the Missionaries and Staff page for some current news.  - Jess

30 days of Hope in Cambodia is a ministry of Joyce Meyer, (USA). This ministry is her new ministry and it just started last Friday, July 13th in Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia and it’ll go all the way until August 12th. There will be workshops, concerts, and preaching in both, cities and provinces. The plan is to start with Hillsong London concert and some workshops taught by people from this ministry, concerts by Cambodian churches, and finish by a big group from (Hillsong Australia) such as Joyce Mayer, Darlene Zech, Delirious team.

The original plan for the Hillsong London concert was to do at the boxing arena of the Olympic stadium where we can put over 7000 people. All the leaflets, invitations, announcements, and advertisements were sent out to people. Three days before the concert started, there was a bad news from the government said that we were not allowed to use the stadium for this concert! What a shock!!! Pisit was one of a few helpers for this Hillsong London concert. After the bad news had been told, Pisit was asked to find a new place and organize the whole event. It was quite a big request for him, but he had just to trust God. He found a new place and people to help in two days. The team came and the concert started with lots and lots of people from provinces of Cambodia and other countries near by Cambodia. Because of the new place allowed us to put only 600-700 people, so we had to work harder to keep people not to get into the building and disturb other people from worshiping God. We also had two big live screens outside the building under the sky for those who could not get in. There were packed with people both, inside and outside. There were some people who did not have a seat (even at the outside) just stood and listen to it from the outside. It was amazing!!!  It rained quite strong on Sunday night. So there was no any body watching the live concert through the screens, except a group of Korean people (about 15 people). It was so touching to see them standing under the rain outside the building and watch the live concert from screen.

Before the Hillsong London led worship, there was a Cambodian team lead us into the presence of God. My church’s band, called New Life Extreme Band led by Pisit was on the last night concert. I do not brag my husband or my church that they are good, but it’s true! You should have seen when they were playing. They were amazing! If they could have the same instrument as Hillsong London has I’m sure they could play just as the same as them! The Holy Spirit just flowed down on us as a poor rain that has not rained for a half year! Some people kneeled down, some people raised their hands up, some people stood still, some people cried, and some people just enjoy being in God’s presence when they were worshiping God.  These three days, there were lots of Christians and non-Christians came. Between the worship time, there was a pastor named Gary Clarke from Hillsong London church preached. When the sermon was done, he called to those who would like to have Jesus as their savoir and to those who want to have a re-relationship with Jesus to raise their hands up and he led them with a prayer to God. There were many people received healing from Jesus in both ways, spiritually and physically.

We said goodbye to this team as they were leaving the next day after the concert finished. It was a good time to get to know them as well as to see how great their band is. Because Pisit was an Event Organizer, so I got a VIP pass to go everywhere I wanted and got to meet and talk to them :-)

To organize the whole concert was not an easy job, but Pisit had done it so well.  However, there were some mistakes that he made accidentally.  I'm so proud of my stong, wise, paitient and godly husband!

We both really thank God for this wonderful experience for Cambodian people, especially Cambodian Christians to see and got to worship him through a special Christian worship band. We also thank God for he is such a great God to be patient and wait until his people return back to him, and he still loves them! He is a good God! Finally we thank God for his help, strength, wisdom, power, especially the Holy Spirit that He has given to Pisit as well as his team to work through this difficult work without any trouble!

Pisit and his team will travel to several provinces in Cambodia to lead worship for this ministry until it’s done on the middle of August. Pisit will help leading worship for the big event in August as well. Please pray for Pisit, his team, and the whole ministry to effect to the country of Cambodia and there will be many more Cambodian people will be reached by our Father. Well done! Blessing you all!
