We are committed to raising up Cambodians to lead their own Church. Well trained pastors, evangelists, children's workers, and other leaders are necessary for the Church in Cambodia to be a healthy body. These ministries are focused on the Bible and Leadership training. Click on the links below for more information.
“Million Leaders Mandate is a global initiative to train millions of Christians worldwide with the necessary leadership skills to effectively pursue the Great Commission in their communities, workplaces, and churches.”
“Million Leaders Mandate was launched in Asia in January of 2003 and expanded to Africa, Europe, and Latin America in successive years from 2004 to 2006. Million Leaders Mandate is currently active in over 135 countries on five continents.”
EQUIP and New Life Fellowship give two seminars a year for all of Cambodia's church leaders. A side effect of the program is it allows leaders to work together across denomination lines. In 2010, they gave one seminar in Phnom Penh and one in Battambang.
“We don't have a church in Battambang so the seminar gives us a chance to work with people we wouldn't normally be able to,” says Jason Prosser, New Life coordinator of Million Leaders Mandate.
For New Life, the program offers a great supplement to the training provided in the School of Leaders, and nearly all of New Life's church leaders have gone through or are enrolled in the program.
One popular lesson talks about the Principle of Multiplication. If you lead one meeting a day for 300 people, after 30 years you will engage 3,000,000 people. However, if you focus on training one person in depth per year over 30 years, and then the person you've trained trains another person for one year, so that each person trained trains another person. Over 30 years, upwards of 30,000,000 people will have been trained, a huge increase not to mention a much more powerful and relational method of training.
Not only is this a popular lesson EQUIP teaches, but it is a lesson they've embodied themselves with the Million Leaders Mandate. They are currently training over 10,000 leaders who will in turn train hundreds and thousands more.
“In its brief history,” says iEquip.org, “EQUIP has already engaged more than one million leaders around the world in its leadership development process.” It seems Million Leaders Mandate will soon have to change its name to something much bigger!
New Life Fellowship is proud to partner with this ministry.
The School of Leaders is a monthly Bible training school for all our provincial pastors and leaders. We gather together once a month to learn, discuss and apply a chosen subject. The subjects that we teach are in three different categories: Bible, Practical Christian Living and Leadership Skills. The format that we use is a combination of teaching, discussion and application. Sometimes, we will meet in Phnom Penh and other times, we will meet in the provincial villages.
The goal of the School of Leaders is to help each leader to grow in their understanding of God and His ways and to bless them with the tools to lead their churches throughout Cambodia. A secondary goal is to establish a ‘community’ of leaders. Our desire is that each of these leaders will have strong relationships with the other leaders and they can be a source of help and strength to each other. This secondary goal is clearly being accomplished as we see our leaders sharing their hearts and ideas with one another and also as they spend a time praying together, laughing together and having fun with each other.
