Sim Somnang came to the Lord in the Phnom Penh church and immediately started growing as a disciple. He soon joined the process of being trained as a leader. He has planted several churches and oversees them and their pastors, primarily in Kompong Speu Province, south of Phnom Penh. His wife Samdy also came to the Lord at the Phnom Penh church, where they both met.
When we first started the church we had almost all singles. They were all born again, discipled and trained as leaders through our church. As time went on first generation Christians began to marry and have babies. Now they are growing and ministering to others. In recent years Somnang and Samdy have received a burden from the Lord to reach out to families. The Cambodian family has serious problems, and in keeping with our vision for societal transformation, a Marriage and Family Ministry is essential. Recently Somnang's wife, Samdy, has taken a step of faith, quit her job and has joined Somnang in the Marriage and Family Ministry of New Life Churches of Cambodia. They are ministering one-on-one and doing seminars in Phnom Penh and the provincial churches.
