The years between childhood and adulthood are a time of change and new influences. NLF aims to provide youth with a community of peers and mentors to encourage them in their spiritual journey through this period of transition. Click below to learn more about our youth ministries.
Extreme Band is a
worship
team of people who want to live radical lives for God and serve him with
all
they have. It is comprised of a core group of people but they often pull
in
other worship ministry volunteers to be raised up and trained. Their
purpose is
to serve the church
of Cambodia with new
music they write and to minister to congregations.
Many churches
call and ask
for new material and songs. The Extreme Band travels throughout the
provinces
and also serves internationally as the songs they write are in English
and
Khmer. Twice a year they record and release new worship albums.
Their goal is to
bring
people to an understanding of what true worship is and then use that
knowledge
to usher others into the holy presence of God. They desire to lay down
pride,
selfishness and sin in order to be cleansed and move into the Holy of
Holies to
worship God. They want to raise up worshipers of Spirit and truth which
are the
kind of worshipers God is looking for.
They headline at
the NLF
“Big Days” and annually lead worship at the National Day of Prayer on
July 1st.for
the countrywide prayer. They also lead worship at the Global Day of
Prayer
event in Cambodia.
The Internship is a one-year program designed for young men and women to give their time serving and learning in the church. Based on Psalms 1:3, our internship seeks to help young people plant themselves in their relationship with Jesus Christ and give them the tools that they need to continue to grow in God for the rest of their lives. Regardless of where they go or what they do after the internship, we desire that all of our interns will graduate with the skills to flourish as a Christian in today’s society.
Our internship consists of three main points. The first is academic learning. We teach Bible college-level classes that are selected to help each student understand the foundations of Christianity and succeed in other practical areas of life. Some of the classes that are taught are the Kingdom of God, Faith and Personal Management. The second area is ministry. For the duration of the year, every one of our interns will volunteer in a ministry of New Life Fellowship as well as participate in missions trips with our missions department. The final point is relationships. All of our interns will have the opportunity to grow in their relationship with God, the leaders and pastors of New Life Fellowship and with each other.
In
developing countries like Cambodia, thousands of youth stream to the
capital every year in hopes of finding work and education. The majority
of these young people come from poor villages and they simply need
foundational support to survive in the city of Phnom Penh.
New Life Fellowship saw this critical need and decided to take
action by creating Next Step Houses. Next Step Houses
are a secure place for these young people to lay their head and call
"home." Each house has a core group of believers who provide
discipleship and a stable Christian environment.
Next Step Houses are open to believers and unbelievers
alike, but in a matter of time most new residents are drawn to Jesus
Christ and become strong disciples. All members of the house have
voluntary morning and evening Bible studies, and most serve in the local
church. They have an opportunity to study English, typing and office
skills; while also making friends and growing in their responsibilities.
There are currently five Next Step Houses in the Phnom
Penh area; two are for women and three are for men. Each house has about
25 residents.
New Life has committed to provide an excellent
environment to make disciples and train leaders for the future.

“If you don’t feel too
old, you’re always
welcome at YO.” 100+ students and young adults come every Saturday
evening. The
age range is around16-20. YO serves as a bridge to the Sunday church.
Its used
to introduce the unbeliever youth to church. The Gospel is shared and
they have
the opportunity to give their hearts to the Lord. The program, which is
an hour
and a half long, consists of games, worship, a message and fellowship.
The
program varies throughout the month. They will add in things like
fashion
shows, question and answer time, dramas, competitions, snacks etc. Their goal is to
see the
youth start to change their lives and the attitudes towards their
community,
family and then go reach out to more youth. They have a heart to see
more youth
leaders be raised up. Youth seminars and conferences are held throughout
the
year and there is a retreat just for the YO leaders.
YO has a heart to
reach
out to others and the community. They have a three day Friendship Camp
for unbelievers
where they evangelize and introduce them to Jesus. Many become
Christians by
the end of camp. The YO leaders are team leaders that facilitate the
discussion
times. Twice a year is Food Day where they ask the youth to give
offering and
they make food and bring it to the homeless and street beggars.
